Why is it when I let my nails grow long it starts to grow skin(flesh) underneath the growing nail?

why is it when I let my nails grow long it starts to grow skin(flesh) underneath the growing nail, after a while? Its so weird. If I don't cut them the grow under will start to have feeling and itf I try to cut hem they will hurt. This I why I now decided to just cut my nails everytime they start to grow.Why is it when I let my nails grow long it starts to grow skin(flesh) underneath the growing nail?
it happens to me too. i used to wear acrylic and gel for years and i think thats why. i was just looking for a question with it!





when i looked it up someone else asked and they said it was a fungal infection but they're not like us (black) and i don't think thats what we have. I think we're both talking about the same thing. so if you go to the doctor first, could you email me and tell me what it is and if i go i'll do the same!Why is it when I let my nails grow long it starts to grow skin(flesh) underneath the growing nail?
It's just the way your nails grow. It's called the hyponicium (sp?). There's not much you can do about it but keep your nails short.
