I HAVE A MEDIUM SIZE TURTLE WITH SHORT NAILS AND MY NEIOBERS HAVE THE SAME SIZE AND THERE HUGEWHEN DO MY RED SLIDERS TURTLE NAIL GROW ?

So you have a female and they have a male.


Total Body length: 5-8'; average for males, up to 12 inches max for females. Life span: 15-25+ years


Males have the longer front nails and are used in mating. And are considered mature at about 5 yrs old. You can’t start sexing till about 3” across.





Mating dance happens all yr long but true mating season happens in May thru June and babies 80-90 days later.


WHEN DO MY RED SLIDERS TURTLE NAIL GROW ?
your turtle may be female, and theirs may be male, males tend to have longer claws that females.. and just because theyre the same size, doesn't mean there the same age, yours may be younger, and its claws might not be grown yet.. or theirs could be younger
