What would make a nail grow back,all you see is skin.?

i had gel nails for school,it was my own nails,so i smashed my finger in the door,and half of the nail came off,and it skin showing,what should i do.What would make a nail grow back,all you see is skin.?
one time i did the same thing, but with a hammer (cliche, i know) but it took like 2 weeks for the nail to grow back.What would make a nail grow back,all you see is skin.?
My friend's step sister had something like that happen to her toenail.


Put a bandaid over it, change it every day or every other day, but you also have to let it breathe.


Keep putting a bandaid over it (while also giving it some air once in a while) until the nail grows back.
