it makes no difference unless you use a protien enhanced polish. that will make your nails stronger, but not grow faster.
if you want longer nails, eat a diet rich in folic acid. or take prenatal vitamins, even if you are not pregnant. it will make your hair and nails healthier.Finger nails grow faster with or without nail polish ?
base coat, nail polish and top coat will give you added strength so your nails will grow with less breakage...you could also try a product from south africa that i use in my salon...it is a gel overlay on your natural nail and is super strong and looks fabulous...this gel is 5 star rated for healthy nails...it is called ( bio sculptured gel nails)...unlike the other gels this one can be soaked off and your natural nails underneath stay healthy,...you can look on their web and see if you have a spa in your area that does them.....

They grow faster without, and if you paint them all of the time, they will turn yellowish, and cracked. My grandmother had that problem, and it was because she never allowed her nails to breathe.
i think without if you make sure you take care of your nails and keep them clean
My ex mil swears by eating gelatin to keep her nails long and strong. Her nails are always in terrific shape! Break out the jello! :)
